Paige's story is full of youth rebellion, drugs, physical and emotional abuse, and lots of bad choices. She found herself in Lockhart for drug possession and in the Paws in Prison Program where she trained 15 dogs over her 6 year tenure. "I learned so much about myself that I never knew and may have never learned if it wasn’t for Paws in Prison. To find out that I enjoy teaching others and that I am a skilled and natural public speaker was a shock to me, because teaching and sharing your knowledge with others is an unselfish act in itself. My life is not perfect, and I still make mistakes but the skills that I acquired in this program have helped me make better choices, and these choices have enabled me to be the person I was created to be and live a life that I am both proud and grateful to live."
